Odyssey's mission is to help each student reach their full potential working in partnership with you, our Odyssey families. Your child must have your full support at home and at school. Upon admittance to Odyssey, each family commits to a minimum of 18 volunteer hours each school year (25 hours for 2 or more students enrolled). Our students count on your partnership and support.
School volunteers are extra-special people who are committed to making schools the best they can be. Volunteers play an important role in the daily operations of Odyssey. We appreciate all the help our volunteers give our students, teachers and school.
All potential Odyssey volunteers are required to complete a Brevard Public Schools Volunteer Application. This application is the tool which BPS utilizes to screen applicants under the provisions of the:
Foley Amendment, the National Child Protection Act, and the matching Florida legislation under section 943.0542, F.S. (1999) May 21, 2004, SB 1774/House Bill 0891 - Relating to Conducting Search of names or identifying information against the Sexual Predators/ Offenders Database maintained by Florida Department of Law Enforcement. The School Board of Brevard County, Florida utilizes Florida Statues 435.04 Level 2 (2) as the criteria to screen volunteers.
