Bio: Patricia lives in Palm Bay and has been in education for twelve years. She has lived in Brevard County for four years and previously lived and taught grades in Okeechobee County. She has two grown children and two grandchildren who still live in Okeechobee. She attended Florida Atlantic University in Jupiter, Florida where she earned her bachelor's degree in Exceptional Student Education. She is currently working on her master's degree in Instructional Design and Technology with a completion date set for February, 2018.

Geier, Liane • Ext. 1106
Certification: Elementary Education (K-6), Reading Endorsement, ESOL Endorsement
Bio: Ms. Geier graduated from the University of Central Florida in 2010 with a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education.  She is also endorsed in ESOL and Reading. After graduation, Ms. Geier moved to Broward County and taught fifth and second grade.  Ms. Geier moved back to her hometown of Palm Bay, Florida, and took a position teaching Kindergarten at Odyssey Preparatory Academy their opening year and is now in her fifth year at OPA.

Bio: Alimary attended the University of Central Florida where she earned her Bachelors in Early Childhood Education. Her teaching career started in Orange County where she did her internships and first year of teaching. She has been teaching Kindergarten since 2015 but it is her first year at OPA.

Bio: Ms. Ebersole is a veteran teacher from Houston, TX where she taught grades K-5 as a bilingual teacher and as Special Education teacher. She is very excited to be starting a Montessori kindergarten this year at OPA!

Bio: Mrs. Rodriguez is a dedicated and enthusiastic K-12 teacher with over 6 years of experience. She taught Kindergarten for 4 years achieving a 100% class probability of reading success. She anticipates an amazing year full of meaningful learning activities and growth!

Bio: Veronica Stevens began her teaching career in Maryland, where she taught kindergarten and first grade.  Since relocating to Brevard County in 2002, she has taught all elementary grades except fourth.   This is her eleventh year teaching in a charter school, and her second year at OPA.

Bio: Ms. Sear has a Bachelor's Degree in Organizational Management with a minor in Marketing. She is a 2nd grade teacher at Odyssey Preparatory Academy with thirteen years' experience in first and Kindergarten. She has a passion for teaching, inspiring, and challenging children to love learning. Ms. Sear invites and encourages families to be a part of the learning this year that takes place in the classroom. Get ready for meaningful activities, experiences, and fun!

Bio: Heather lives in Palm Bay with her husband and two dogs, and she is entering her 3rd year teaching in elementary school. She has taught in third grade, first grade, and Transitional Kindergarten. She has special training in phonics using the Readology Method and Cue Articulation. She utilizes picture decoding to help students read and understand how words work. She has a passion for teaching students to read. This is Mrs. Davis's first year at Odyssey Preparatory Academy.

Bio: Ms. Buchy lives in Palm Bay and is currently completing her 1st year of teaching. She attended the University of South Florida, Sarasota-Manatee in Sarasota, Florida where she earned her Bachelors in Elementary Education. She interned with grades 1, 3, and 5 in Sarasota County before moving to Brevard County to teach.

Bio: Ms. Stephanie Heck is in her second year of teaching. Ms. Heck received her Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education from Indian River State College. Ms. Heck is excited to be teaching 3rd grade again and looking forward to having a great and successful year with her students.

Bio: Emily is a new Floridian resident, coming from West Virginia and Virginia.  This is her 5th year of teaching and she has previously taught 6th and 3rd grade.  Emily attended Sweet Briar College and received a Bachelor's in Liberal Studies and a Master of Arts in Teaching.  She has worked in both public and private schools and is in her first year with Odyssey Schools.  She is teaching 4th grade at OPA and is happy she has found a new school to call home.  Emily is working on a Master's in Educational Leadership and plans to work on a PhD in an Educational field.

Bio: Mrs. Macheska lives in Palm Bay with her husband, son, and daughter.  This is Mrs. Macheska's fifth year teaching fourth grade.  She attended California State University Fresno in Fresno, CA where she earned her Bachelors in Early Childhood Education.  She moved to Florida six years ago to be closer to her family.  Although this is her first year at OPA, her last four years of teaching were at our sister school, Odyssey Charter!

Bio: Amy Heath moved from Michigan to the Palm Bay area this year. She has her Master's degree in Education from Michigan State University and a Bachelor's degree in Speech Therapy/Special Education from Eastern Michigan University. She received her teaching certification through the Florida Teacher Ready Alternative Certification program through the Professional Education Unit at the University of West Florida. Miss Heath has been teaching for eight years, but is new to teaching children. This is her first year with Odyssey Preparatory Academy and she is very excited to teach and learn from her students this year!

Bio: Robert Birmingham has been married for 20 years and has a daughter in college. He transitioned from the Military after 27 years in 2012, and worked for the Department of Defense Education system at the College level for four years. Mr. Birmingham transitioned as an Elementary school teacher for Brevard County Schools in 2013 -2014 until finding a place at OPA in 2015-2016 school year. Mr. Birmingham has earned several degrees: Bachelor of Science in Economics, Master of Arts in Teaching with Technology, Education Specialist (Ed.S) in Educational Leadership, Education Specialist (Ed.S) in Curriculum and Instruction, and is currently working on his Doctorate of Education in Educational Leadership.

Bio: Mrs. Neal moved to Florida from Michigan in July 2017 to join the Odyssey Family. She and her husband have two children, a 12 year old son and 3 year old daughter. They also attend Odyssey Preparatory Academy. She earned her Bachelor's Degree in 2009 and her Master's Degree in 2017. She has taught all age groups from 3 year olds to 8th graders. She specializes in math, science and language arts. She has over 7 years of veterinary technician experience and loves animals. She enjoys working with children and emphasizes the need for self-confidence in all of her students.

Bio: Ms. Mackie lives in Vero Beach with her son and two dogs and has been in education for 17 years.  She is originally from Wichita, KS where she taught grades 7 and 8 as an algebra and geometry teacher. This is Ms. Mackie's 2nd year teaching at OPA and she is excited to be on the 6th grade team!

Bio: Ms. Treasure is an enthusiastic teacher who has taught fifth and sixth grades for the past 18 years.
My education includes a Bachelor's of Education Degree in Elementary Education, which I attained at the International University of the Caribbean in Jamaica in 2012. A Diploma in Teaching from Sam Sharpe Teachers' College in 1998. My philosophy is to provide an interesting, challenging and learning environment where my students will flourish socially and academically. This is my second year at OPA and looking forward to many more years!

Bio: Ms. Simpson lives in Palm Bay with her family of one daughter and one son. She is entering her 7th year in education. She has taught elementary, middle, and high school art. She attended FAU in Boca Raton, FL where she earned her Bachelors in Art and a Masters in Web & Computer Technology at DMAC. Currently she is studying to receive her Masters in Reading with an emphasis in Elementary Education. This is her first year working at Odyssey Prep Academy.


Stout,Aaron • Ext. 1140
Bio: Aaron is a professional musician and writer originally from Indianapolis, Indiana. In 1999 he received a Bachelor's in music composition from Wabash College in Crawfordsville, IN, and he has been composing, writing, performing, directing, producing and teaching ever since. After moving to Texas in 2000, he worked in theater and advertising, directing musicals and ensembles throughout the Dallas/Fort Worth area. He has been teaching privately since 2001, and has worked with organizations such as schools, theater groups, and churches to develop programs to teach the creative arts. Most recently, he spent ten years as director of media with North Lake College, where he produced video, graphics, audio and music for use in distance education. In 2015, he moved to Palm Bay with his wife to write and teach online, and now is in his first year teaching elementary music with Odyssey Prep Academy.
